A Place to Live!

What an exciting day! After having found a wonderful apartment, we set to work contacting the real estate agent and negotiating the terms of the contract. It seems that everything is in order, and as of Thursday we will be moving into a beautiful apartment in De Pijp! I'm so excited to become a member of this vibrant and culturally diverse neighbourhood in Amsterdam's Oud Zuid (Old South). I think that many trips to Ikea and home-furnishing stores are in order, and I've already been reading up on decorating small spaces (our apartment is roughly 85 m2). The apartment is newly renovated and is currently very white. The windows are large and flanked in beautiful cream draperies. The couch is a dark blue, so I'm thinking of going with a white/cream/beige/blue and black accented colour scheme....These are both Gabriel and my favourite colours, and it will keep things light and airy. We will probably accent with pieces picked up on our travels and all of our wonderful travel photography on the walls. Can you tell that I'm excited to start decorating?!
