Mr. Arun Gandhi - The Hague
On Friday May 22, (Mohandas) Mahatma Gandhi's grandson, Mr. Arun Gandhi, will be in The Hague. He will be participating in a special event with the UNPO (Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization), "Promoting a Culture of Non-Violence". The day will focus on cross-cultural communication, and emphasize peace and human rights.
The event will take place at the Nuthuis, and focus on fostering a culture of non-violence in the youth of today. Since The Hague is considered to be a center of peace and justice in the world, it is only fitting that such an event will take place here. Opening ceremonies will begin at the Statue of Gandhi on the Hobbemaplein at 16:15, and continue on to the Nuthuis. Afterwards there will be opportunities to view cultural exhibitions, performances, and listen to a speech from Gandhi's grandson. The event will last until 20:00.
