On Friday May 22, (Mohandas) Mahatma Gandhi's grandson, Mr. Arun Gandhi, will be in The Hague. He will be participating in a special event with the UNPO (Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization), "Promoting a Culture of Non-Violence". The day will focus on cross-cultural communication, and emphasize peace and human rights.
The event will take place at the Nuthuis, and focus on fostering a culture of non-violence in the youth of today. Since The Hague is considered to be a center of peace and justice in the world, it is only fitting that such an event will take place here. Activities will include a silent walk, open debates, and forums discussing non-violence and peace amongst cultures.
Opening ceremonies will begin at the Statue of Gandhi on the Hobbemaplein at 16:15, and continue on to the Nuthuis. Afterwards there will be opportunities to view cultural exhibitions, performances, and listen to a speech from Gandhi's grandson. The event will last until 20:00.
Admission is free, and if you are in The Hague, it might be a great opportunity to hear from one of the world's leaders in Human Rights activism.

That would be something to do, indeed! I wish I was closer to Den Haag for these special events. Seems it all happens in either Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Den Haag ;-)
Thanks for sharing this!
