Pink Peonies

The beautiful bouquet of van Gogh sunflowers (zonnebloemen) my Dad bought from the market is slowly wilting, so tomorrow I'm off to the market to pick up some hot pink peonies.

It's peony season right now in the Netherlands, and these beautiful pink fluffy snow-ball flowers are in all the markets.

They're also my new favourite flower (*hint hint*).

I suggest you to pass by the blog Cote de Texas to check her love for peonies. Link can be found in my blog. I suggest to mix dark pink or red peonies with pure white ones. It is a WOW !!

My house was full of pink peonies last week - not only are beautiful, very inexpensive (bijna gratis!!) but they also last for ages - ticks all the boxes and is the total "Dutch" package!! LOL!

Beautiful photos. Good thing that my mother in law is also very fond of flowers so we dont miss out on colors in the house.

You are adopting the Dutch love for flower already. Oh well, that's one of the best thing about this country. The flowers are always so beautiful in spring.

Hey Vivian, thanks for stopping by. It's so exciting being an expat, seeing and experiencing completely different things every day. I'm not sure when I'll be back in Canada though, so I'm trying to savor all the time I have here in Amsterdam!

Hi Emmy, love your peony photos!

Katie - I envy your weekends in the Hamptons as a nanny! Reminds me of my summers during university when I was a nanny in Muskoka (the Hamptons of Canada). It's nice here in Amsterdam, but I would love to escape the city once in a while!

My Wooden Heart - Thank you! I'm obsessed with the beautiful flower stalls here :)

Bluefish - Aww thank you! I cannot wait to start reading about your new life in Denmark! It will be fabulous!

Anita - Thanks for the links, Cote de Texas is a gorgeous site! I chose a mix of dark pink and light pink (I didn't see any white?) but you're right, the combination of the light and dark is gorgeous! Thanks again!

Nifty Adventures - Thank you for stopping by and following! Before moving to the Netherlands I had never seen peonies like this... everywhere! I'm loving this spring because of all the flowers!

Amanda - You're absolutely right! Cheap, beautiful, and long-lasting....fits all my criteria!

twopenneth - I've totally adopted the Dutch love for flowers. I'm pretty sure I spend at least 7 euros a week on fresh bouquets of flowers...now that I think about it, I should probably cool it on the flower-buying...I could have a whole new wardrobe by now!!!

Thanks Isabella!

Thank you all for commenting, have a great weekend :)
