I just finished booking a flight to Argentina for over the Christmas break!!!! Ever since Gabriel and I met almost 4 years ago, we've been talking of traveling to his birth country, and the country of his childhood (Uruguay). Finally, finally, we're going to make the big trip down to South America. Gabriel hasn't been back to visit in nearly 8 years, and this will be my first time traveling to South America!
I'm so so so excited!
We're going to spending our time equally between Argentina and Uruguay. In Argentina we're planning on visiting Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, and perhaps Patagonia (if time permits). In Uruguay we're stopping in Montevideo before heading to the luxurious beach town of Punta del Este to spend a week in Gabriel's favourite place in the world :)

Are you serious, South America?? That's fabulous!!!! I've never been there, but it's on my list. I am looking forward to read about it and see the gorgeous pictures!

Punta Del Este rocks! Make sure you don't wear any jewelry in B.A. I had a nice necklace ripped off of my neck in the subway.

My husband is from Argentina. When we visited Uruguay, I much prefered the area of La Pedrera. I found it more natural, rustic, beautiful with lots of artists types. I guess it depends on what type of vacation you want. Also, going to Cabo Polonio is a real adventure. The only way to get there is to park at a parking lot and take a special 4x4 to the little beach town.
