Kayaking

collage1

Last weekend I went kayaking for the first time. It was fun, and although my shoulders were burning slightly, I just loved being out on the water. Even though I get sea-sick, this just reaffirmed that one day I should probably own a boat. There is something about the colour, smell, and sound of the water that is so soothing, don’t you agree?

When I move to Toronto in a few weeks, I will definitely be heading down to the Harbourfront Centre for long walks and trips to the marina.

I'll see your "getting seasick" and raise you a "poor swimmer". (as in, I wear my pfd all the time...)
I have both those things going on, and yet I'm also oddly attracted to the water. Raced off Bronte Harbour for some seven years before moving to the Netherlands. Couldn't get enough of it. If you wish, you might look into signing on as crew at one of the sailing clubs in T.O.
I find the Shopper's Drug mart store brand motion sickness pills work for me.
I'm just saying.
It's very hard to race a sail boat single handed, and most skippers (not all) are willing to take on new and untried crew. We've trained many a crew member on the boat I was part of. Some times they move on to other boats. Either way, it's always good for the club to train newbies.
You never know.

Looks like you had great fun! Tried it a couple of years ago and loved it.
Anyway every activity with the word "water" or "sea", I'm in. I am a sea girl and could not imagine living far away from it.
I understand your fascination for this blue colour by the way - lovely photos!

I've tried kayaking before. I really, really suck at it and it isn't something that I'd try again.

I haven't been here in quite some time... I've been really bad at blogging this summer.
