Hi! I'm Heather. In 2008, I finished my bachelors degree in anatomy/cell biology, and immediately moved halfway across the globe to the Netherlands! My boyfriend got a job there, so we lived happily in Hilversum, and then Amsterdam, for nearly a year and a half. I started this blog as a way to keep in touch with my family back home in Canada, and to share my pictures with friends. Little did I know that it would be my connection to such a wonderful group of fellow expats living in Holland, as well as the larger blogging community! While living in Europe, we traveled to lots of different countries, and my souvenirs were my photos and this blog.
In 2009 I moved back to Canada to pursue a MBA degree. It was hard leaving the Netherlands, since I had such a connection to it (my ancestors were from there). I missed my daily trips to the markets, the fabulous cheeses, and little sidewalk cafes at every turn. Oh, and the canals! I missed the canals too. But mostly I just missed having an adventure every single day, and being completely enamored with the little aspects of European life like only an outsider can.
Since moving home to Canada, I have kept up this blog as a way to share some of my travels, and to look back on my time abroad.
Thanks for visiting!
